At Jus Delish Group, our business philosophy does not solely revolved around “profitability”. We understand that it does help to take a step back at times, looking at things from a different perspective and think about how we could best extend assistance to the less fortunate/privileged group in society. We take pride in our ability to reflect on our corporate journey and to foster communal progress as a whole while working on our expansion – dutifully assuming the role of responsible corporate citizens. We cultivate and sow the correct values into each and every employee of ours – encouraging and integrating positive ethics both in and out of workplace.
While offering delectable and savoury cuisines to our cherished customers has become the ethos where the various brands under the group are commonly associated with/identified by, the thought and inclination of giving back to society has never eluded us, be it as a brand or as a Group. Our organisation is an active supporter of meaningful charitable causes; especially for the disabled, the critically ill and the elderly. We are deeply committed to reciprocate and requite what the society has done for us.
On the eventful morning of 27th September, Jus Delish Group’s employees made a memorable trip down to Toa Payoh’s National Kidney Foundation branch, which is equipped with 14 dialysis stations, to spend some quality time with the patients. A total of 13 volunteers from various restaurants of the group headed down to the centre bright and early at 8.30am to show their support for the Group CSR’s pursuits and to offer some much sought company to the patients at the centre. We will like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the NKF liaison personnel for being highly supportive of this initiative, making this joint collaboration a Great success. They were at the centre to facilitate the session and our volunteers answer their eagerness with the same enthusiasm, kick starting the day with many positive vibes.
Some fact sharing, a dialysis patient has to spend an average of 4 hours at the dialysis centre and so the company of volunteers is much sought after. It was all smiles on the said day, where heart-warming gift sets (photo frames) were prepared for the patients. An interactive session ensues, where our volunteers spent time talking to the patients (hopefully, we helped them to forget/alleviate the pain that they are experiencing during the treatment process) followed by a lively game of Bingo. To make the game more inclusive, the elderly, while assisted by the volunteers, were given chances to spin the Bingo rollers on a rotational basis. Three lucky winners completed the game and called for “Bingo!”, walking away with a sling bag each.
Both the elderly and the volunteers had a swell time competing against each other to beat the game of Bingo, enjoying each other company throughout the interactive process. In just a day, the volunteers were able to learn important lessons and values that they can instil in their livelihood.
“This tie up has been equally educational on the part of our employees. We now have a better understanding of what NKF does as well as the plight of the kidney patients – what they have to endure on a day in day out basis. This is the first step in the right direction on our CSR efforts. We are definitely looking forward to future collaborative opportunities with NKF, where we are opened to exploring contribution in other ways. It is heartening to note that responses from our employees to take part in such volunteering activities are overwhelming, in light that it is held during their off-work hours. Everyone wishes to contribute in some form or manner, albeit it may be small or insignificant in the eyes of others. All in all, a successful start to our Group’s CSR initiatives. We are not stopping here; our Group has plans to accomplish much more. “
